BASIS Independent Bellevue is seeking candidates to coach Junior Varsity and Varsity basketball. The role runs after-school on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30 to 6:00 PM, beginning Nov 12, 2026, with an anticipated end date of Feb 11, 2027.
The position requires a high school diploma (associate’s preferred), 1–2 years coaching experience, and CPR/First Aid certification. Prior K-12 education experience and coaching certification are preferred.
Practice days are Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 4:30-6:00 PM. This is a temporary position, beginning on November 12, 2026 and an anticipated end date of February 11, 2027.
Engages children in physical fitness activities and develops fundamental skills.
Develops and implements effective program curriculum and content.
Plans, organizes and conducts a wide variety of physical education activities for all age groups and genders.
Establishes, maintains and fosters positive and harmonious working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
Organizes people, supplies, and equipment
Knowledge of all aspects of various sport programs and the ability to teach/coach student-athletes toward acquisition of those skills.
Maintains a safe environment for participants.
Models and fosters cooperation, sportsmanship, and ethical behavior.
Determines the system of play to be used in a fair and equal way so that all participants have playing time.
Implements best strategies and methods to carry out a system of play.
Understands the rules of the sport.
Performs other duties as assigned.
