Job summary

Maryland Department of Juvenile Services (DJS) is seeking a Program Specialist: Community Resources Placement Coordinator to coordinate statewide placement services for youth committed to or under supervision. The role supports coordinated identification, referral, and monitoring of community-based and residential placement resources to ensure treatment in the least restrictive environment.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required; three years of case management or resource services for youth.
Substitutions allowed: AA with 2 years, MS in social/behavioral sciences, or four years of relevant experience.
U.S. Armed Forces military service experience substitutions allowed for required experience and education.

Responsibilities

Coordinate statewide placement referrals for community-based, residential, staff secure, hardware secure, psychiatric, and out-of-state placements.
Conduct ongoing case reviews and placement tracking to ensure youth progress through treatment and are not kept in restrictive placements unnecessarily.
Monitor compliance with federal regulations governing Title IV-B protections and the Family First Prevention Services Act.
