Job summary

Madison County Commission seeks a Juvenile Detention Officer for the Neaves Davis Center for Children in Huntsville. You will supervise residents on each shift, oversee daily activities, and ensure accurate daily logbooks.

You will participate in crisis counseling when needed and transport juveniles to appointments. A background check and PREA training are required.

This is a 24-hour facility; willingness to work overnight/3rd shift is essential.

Qualifications

• Graduation from high school or GED.
• Some experience in a correctional or institutional environment.

Responsibilities

• Supervise all activities of residents daily.
• Maintain order and address disciplinary problems.
• Prepare observation and incident reports and ensure logbooks are legible.
• Transport juveniles to appointments (court, medical, etc).
• Provide crisis counseling when needed to calm situations.
• May work overnight shifts or 3rd shift if required.
