Job summary

Commonwealth of Kentucky seeks a Corrections Officer in Paducah to maintain custody of juveniles and ensure a secure detention environment. You will supervise, monitor, and support youth in coordination with staff, handling emergencies and documentation as required.

The role requires a high school diploma, no prior experience, and completion of the Training Academy. Locality and shift premiums apply, with overtime eligibility and full-time status in the Executive Branch.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required.
• No prior experience required for this role.
• Must be twenty years of age and have a valid driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Maintains custody and control of juveniles in a custodial setting or performs related assignments.
• Supervises detained juveniles and maintains a safe, secure detention center environment.
• Responds to emergencies and stands watch in each unit as required.
• Assists juveniles in interpersonal skill development and appropriate conduct.
• Transports juveniles as needed and participates in staff meetings and trainings.
