Qualifications

• Education, Experience and Training: Graduation from an accredited high school/GED program. One year of work related experience.
• Must obtain First Aid/CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and pass a background investigation.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision to youths in a 24-hour detention facility to ensure health and safety.
• Provides individual and group counseling to youths to promote personal awareness and responsibility.
• Makes critical judgments during crises and informs supervisor of actions taken; documents events.
• Disciplines youths by enforcing facility rules and reports behavior.
• Performs back-up duties including transportation, intake/discharge processing, and handling youth restraint when required.
• Conducts inspections, rounds, drills, room checks and searches.
• Transports youths to appointments and coordinates daily activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
