Pima County is seeking a Juvenile Detention Officer to help maintain a safe, structured environment for youth. You will play a key role in de-escalation, rapport-building, and skill development while ensuring security throughout the facility.

The position features a shift-based schedule with day, evening, and overnight options and a robust benefits package. A valid Arizona driver’s license is required for appointment.

Formación

• 21+ years of age; US citizen or legal resident; high school diploma or GED.
• Arizona Driver's License required at time of appointment.
• Preferred: experience with youth and customer service.

Responsabilidades

• Implement programs to support detention philosophy and youth development.
• Provide mentoring and role modeling to youth in the facility.
• Escort youth to and from courtrooms and appointments; ensure safety and security of the facility.
• Observe detainee behavior, document incidents, and prepare written reports.
• Maintain rosters, logs, and daily progress reports; assist in processing new detainees.
