Job summary

Linn County is looking for a Juvenile Detention Worker I to supervise and support dependent, neglected or delinquent youth at the Linn County Juvenile Detention Center. You will monitor safety, conduct intake activities, and maintain daily records while organizing structured activities to meet individual needs.

This role requires a high school diploma and at least 1 year of relevant experience; training is provided. Shifts are Thursday–Sunday, 1 p.m. to 11 p.m., hourly wage $22.75.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of experience in care, counseling, or management of at-risk youth.

Responsibilities

• Supervises dependent, neglected, or delinquent youth in the Detention Center.
• Assesses psychological, physical, and emotional needs and conducts intake.
• Maintains security, safety, and daily records; plans structured activities.
• Promotes positive behavior through relationship building and professional confrontation.
• Responds to emergencies and supports program planning and court recommendations.
