Job summary

Qualifications

• Knowledge of basic management principles and practices.
• Knowledge of Detention services policy and procedures.
• Knowledge of Department, State and Federal policy and procedures relating to the operations of a Juvenile Detention Center.
• Knowledge of methods of compiling, organizing and analyzing data.
• Ability to practice management principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Planning, organizing, and managing the overall operations of the Regional Juvenile Detention Center including programs within secure detention, home detention, and pre-placement supervision, and ensuring achievement of established goals and departmental policy and procedure.
• Establishing current, efficient facility operating procedures that comply with all departmental policy and quality assurance standards as well as regional directives.
• Establishing and managing personnel policies and procedures, for recruitment, hiring, disciplining, rewarding, training and scheduling staff of the detention center.
• Developing strategic plan and goals and objectives for center operations.
• Managing all facets of purchasing, internal fiscal controls, and supply and property inventories.
