Job summary

Coos County Juvenile Department seeks a Court Counselor to perform social casework focusing on youth and family support. The role includes transporting in-custody juveniles and requires a valid driver’s license with DMV checks on record. Degree in social work, sociology, or psychology or equivalent experience is preferred.

Bilingual English/Spanish is desirable but not required. The position is in Coquille, Oregon, full-time, with after-hours on-call responsibilities and a comprehensive benefits

Qualifications

• Four-year college degree in social work, sociology or psychology or equivalent.
• Eligible candidate may be bilingual English/Spanish (desirable but not required).
• Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to transport in-custody juveniles.

Responsibilities

• Conduct social casework in investigation, counseling, adjustment, rehabilitation and guidance of youth and families.
• Perform transportation of in-custody juveniles as required.
• Participate in after-hours on-call transportation duties when needed.
