Allied Universal is seeking a Juvenile Correctional Facility Officer - Visitor Access in Columbia, SC to safeguard clients and manage access points. This role requires a valid driver’s license, strong customer service, and reliable communication to support daily operations.

Responsibilities include verifying credentials, monitoring entry, maintaining logs, and patrolling perimeters. The position is full-time with daytime shifts and an hourly pay rate of $17.00.

Qualifications

• Minimum 6 months of security-related experience.
• A valid driver’s license is required.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years old for unarmed roles; 21+ for armed roles.
• Background check and drug screen as required by law.

• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and control access to restricted areas.
• Screen visitors, deliveries, and authorized personnel as required by site policy, and direct individuals to appropriate locations.
• Respond to incidents and access-control concerns calmly and report to appropriate personnel.
• Conduct regular patrols of entrances and perimeter to deter unauthorized access and identify security concerns.

What You’ll Do:

• Provide customer service to staff, visitors, youth residents, and other authorized individuals by carrying out site-specific access-control procedures, policies, and emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorization, maintain visitor logs, and control access to restricted areas in accordance with facility procedures.
• Screen visitors, deliveries, and authorized personnel as required by site policy, and direct individuals to appropriate locations within the facility.
• Respond to incidents, access-control concerns, and critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, notifying appropriate personnel as needed.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned entrances, surrounding areas, and facility perimeter to help to deter unauthorized access and identify security-related concerns.

Minimum Requirements:

• At least 6 months of security-related experience is required.
• A valid driver’s license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
