Job summary

Montgomery County Common Pleas Court in Ohio seeks a Full-time Control Desk Clerk for the Juvenile Division. The role maintains the 24/7 security control station, monitors visitors, and supports staff and youth safety within a secure facility.

Responsibilities include enforcing procedures, logging incidents, coordinating with counselors, and providing first aid when needed. At-will employment and shift-based schedule are noted.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of facility rules, regulations and policy; laws related to detention operations.
• Ability to apply regulatory requirements to practical situations; empathize with youths’ problems.
• Post information accurately and legibly to written records; deal with youth effectively.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and enforces security procedures to ensure safety of youth and staff.
• Conducts nighttime perimeter checks to identify unusual situations and security.
• Manages group movement and controls; refers questionable activity to appropriate sources.
• Completes Control Desk Logs, Vehicle Usage Logs, Incident Reports and other reports.
• Maintains communications with Unit Counselors during shift change to discuss incidences.
