The Family Court of St. Louis County is hiring for Part Time Detention Aide positions within the Detention Department. These roles follow a Bona Fide Requirement to have the same gender as the resident unit, due to direct custodial care. Salary is $22.03 hourly and candidates must be available for two eight-hour shifts weekly with weekend and holiday availability.

Shifts run 6 a.m. – 2 p.m., 2 p.m. – 10 p.m., or 10 p.m.

Qualifications

• Must pass urinalysis for illegal drug use prior to appointment.
• Extensive background and criminal record check required.
• Position is essential staffing with schedule changes possible.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a youth supervisor with responsibility for safety, conduct and care of juveniles during a shift.
• Interact with juvenile officer or supervisor to report behavior and activities of juveniles.
• Record and track medication provided to juveniles in detention.
• Prepare reports on each juvenile's adjustment and progress.
• Coordinate and supervise juvenile work assignments and recreation activities.
• Provide information on juvenile progress to visiting parents or guardians.
