Job summary

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must obtain State of Georgia POST certification within six months.
• Valid Driver License required.

Responsibilities

• Custody, security, and care of youth per DJJ policies.
• Provide guidance and structure to detained youth to promote safety and rehabilitation.
• Conduct searches, security counts, and supervision in housing, classrooms, and other areas.
• Maintain order and discipline through active supervision and redirection.
• Oversee movement of youth within and between facilities, including during transit and leave.
• Model pro-social behaviors and reinforce positive behavior.
• Screen visitors and staff to prevent contraband.
• Utilize security equipment to protect youth and staff.
