Responsibilities

• Plans, develops, recommends and administers a major program area for the Department of Juvenile Justice (DJJ), specifically juvenile reentry programming statewide.
• Develops policy and procedures regarding juvenile reentry and collaborates with agency and stakeholders.
• Collects and analyzes data and produces reports for stakeholders and the agency.
• Develops, implements and enforces policies and procedures related to juvenile re-entry statewide.
• Attends youth multi-disciplinary team meetings and conducts program monitoring.

This is a highly responsible position in the Justice and Public Safety Cabinet. The employee is expected toperform all duties to the best of their ability, act in a responsible manner at all times, demonstrateleadership qualities, and treat all staff, youth, and persons with respect. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:

• Plans, develops, recommends and administers a major program area for the Department of Juvenile Justice(DJJ), specifically, juvenile reentry programming on a state-wide basis.
• Develops policy, procedures regardingjuvenile reentry, collaborate with agency and stakeholders.
• Collects and analyzes data and produces reportsfor the stakeholders and agency.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• Develops, implements, and enforces policies and procedures related to juvenile re-entry on a statewidebasis.
• Develops individual youth case plans, conducts screenings to identify individual youth needs.
• Develops, prepares and, or, recommends approval of departmental documentation and program formscollaboratively with agency stakeholders and workgroups.
• Attends youth multi-disciplinary team meetings,Conducts program monitoring.
• Provides continued case support to youth and families in conjunction toaftercare services.
• Provides technical assistance on a state-wide basis, regarding data collection and dissemination ofinformation.
• Conducts policy research analysis and compiles related data regarding youth and programming forstakeholders and workgroups.
• Reports on the impact of legislative, financial and policy changes for programming to DJJ ExecutiveStaff as needed.
• Completes and, or, participates in special projects for division director and managers as needed.
• Attendswork groups, committees, training and meetings as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements

EDUCATION: Graduate of a college or university with a bachelor's degree.

EXPERIENCE, TRAINING, OR SKILLS: Four years of professional experience in any operation or program within the field of corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or a related field.

Substitute EDUCATION for EXPERIENCE: A master's degree will substitute for one year of the required experience.

Substitute EXPERIENCE for EDUCATION: Additional experience in corrections, juvenile justice, criminal justice, law enforcement, recreation, academic or vocational education, health services or education, dietary or food management, construction project management, social work, or related field will substitute for the education on a year-for-year basis.

Work is typically performed in an office setting.

This job has an initial and promotional probationary period of 6 months, except as provided in KRS 18A.111.
