Job summary

Immigratin Advocatres Network in New York, NY is seeking Justice Fellows to represent immigrants in various immigration matters, including affirmative asylum applications and relief for vulnerable populations. Candidates may be law students graduating by Spring 2022 or recent graduates from 2020 or 2021. The fellowship lasts two years with a full salary and benefits. Each year IJC awards Justice Fellowships to approximately 25 recent law graduates from around the country – individuals with tremendous talent, promise, and a demonstrated commitment to providing legal services for low income people and immigrants.

IJC trains Justice Fellows to become experts in immigration law and pairs them with leading non‑profit legal services providers and community based organizations. IJC matches selected Fellows with our partnering host organizations based on the applicant’s experience and interest, gaps in services within the community, location interests, and partnering host organizations’ needs.

IJC Fellows serve for two years and are provided with a full salary and benefits.

Responsibilities

• Represent immigrants in an array of immigration matters, including:
• Affirmative asylum applications
• Relief available to juveniles and victims of crime, domestic violence, or human trafficking.

Eligibility

• Applicants may be 3Ls, graduating law school by the Spring of 2022
• Applicants may be 2020 or 2021 law school graduates
• Applicants may have graduated prior to 2020, if they have been continuously enrolled in another fellowship or clerkship since graduation from law school.
