Multimatic Group of Companies in Mooresville, NC is seeking a Junior Wiring Harness Builder to provide electrical support under the Electrical Systems Group Manager. This entry-level motorsports role offers hands-on learning in wiring harness assembly for race teams operating at the top level of North American sportscar racing.

The ideal candidate has basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals, strong desire to learn, and willingness to travel to IMSA events.

Responsibilities

  • Provide highest level of workmanship on Multimatic Electrical Systems projects.
  • Report all quality anomalies that could affect the final product.
  • Work in an organized fashion; maintain cleanliness and respect equipment.
  • Support other co-workers with similar tasks to achieve high workmanship.
  • Identify problem areas in assembly and report to the Electrical Systems Group Manager.
  • Communicate well with team members and maintain a positive attitude.

Location: Multimatic Motorsports USA, Mooresville, North Carolina, United States

We are looking for a Junior Wiring Harness Builder. Primary role is to provide electrical support as directed by the Electrical Systems Group Manager. This is an entry level motorsports-based position. To be considered for this role, the applicant will require basic knowledge of electrical fundamentals and strong desire to learn about all aspects of electrical systems integration that are required for motor racing. A willingness to travel to IMSA events will also be required. We are a professional race team operating at the top level of North American sportscar racing.

Responsibilities
  • Provide highest level of workmanship on all Multimatic Electrical Systems projects.
  • Ensure that all work performed is thorough, methodical and to the highest possible level.
  • Establish good working knowledge of electrical fundamentals. Approach all projects with a strong willingness to learn and apply what is being taught.
  • Report all quality and any anomalies that could affect the outcome of the final product.
  • Work in an organized fashion. Cleanliness, respect for the equipment and tools provided.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Be on time, follow team hours.
  • Support other co-workers with similar tasks in achieving the highest level of workmanship.
  • Imperative to work as a team. Respect one another regardless of personal views.
  • Identify problem areas related to assembly when applicable and report to the Electrical Systems Group Manager.
  • Work closely and communicate well with other team members. Need to be open with a good attitude.
  • This team campaigns two cars in IMSA but operate as one team.
  • Perform other misc. department duties as assigned by the manager.

This role will require you to work at both the racetrack and the workshop. The nature of the work will require you to work extended hours and on some weekends.

Required Skills and Abilities
  • Solid base of automotive or electromechanical skills is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of System 25 sleeving and boots, type 55 wiring, and Autosport/Mil grade connector systems is preferable.
  • Mechanical skills and knowledge of GT race cars is also beneficial but not required.
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail is a must.
  • An entrepreneurial mindset and roll-up-the-sleeves work ethic.
  • Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Organized, accurate, meticulous in work approach.
  • High level of initiative and dependability.
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the USA. Domestic and some international travel with the team to races and tests is expected and required for this position.
  • At least 1 years’ experience building electrical wiring harnesses is beneficial.
  • Competency in general wiring practices such as soldering, splicing, utilization of various connectors.
  • Knowledge of System 25 sleeving and boots, type 55 wiring, and Autosport/Mil grade connector systems is preferable.
  • IT integration knowledge is preferable.
