Job summary

Technology Service Corporation (TSC) seeks a Junior Wind Tunnel Engineer to support wind tunnel operations at the Naval Research Laboratory. The role directly contributes to high-priority Navy missions and safety-critical aerospace testing.

You will prepare test campaigns, assemble and instrument models, and develop automated data acquisition routines while monitoring data quality. A bachelor’s in aerospace or mechanical engineering with related lab experience and DoD clearance eligibility is

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in an aerodynamic laboratory or testing facility.
• Strong proficiency with data acquisition tools (e.g., LabVIEW).
• Experience with 3D CAD modeling software.
• U.S. Citizenship and ability to obtain a DoD Secret level clearance.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, execute, and analyze high-speed aerodynamic test campaigns to validate advanced aerospace vehicles and missile systems.
• Assemble and instrument complex sub-scale models using strain gage balances, pressure scanners, and flow-visualization sensors.
• Develop automated routines for data acquisition and monitor real-time data quality during wind tunnel operations.
• Perform data reduction, analysis of large experimental datasets, and document aerodynamic coefficients used to validate CFD models.
