Coordinates and assists in the direction of the Summer Junior Volunteer Program.

Junior Volunteer Coordinator Job Responsibilities:

  • Provides training and on-going supervision of the Junior volunteers.
  • Schedules the Junior Volunteers daily.
  • Coordinates and assigns Junior Volunteers throughout the hospital.
  • Develops an evaluation instrument and conducts on-going evaluations and end-of-summer evaluations
  • Performs special projects and fundraisers as assigned, and assists the coordinator as required
  • Performs additional duties as may by required under the direction of the Coordinator of Volunteer Services
  • Assists with other duties as assigned
Junior Volunteer Coordinator Education and Experience Requirements:
  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Computer skills required. Microsoft Word, Excel, Access, Publisher and mainframe system entry
  • Ability to make decisions, assess problems and determine whether to refer to a supervisor. Understanding and tact in dealing with patients, families, visitors, and/or volunteers. Maintains discretion in handling the confidential nature of the information in the department and hospital. Ability to adapt to a variety of situations, changes in duties and department requirements. Displays verbal ability and clerical perception. Knowledge and understanding of hospital policy, and the ability to communicate to a diverse population.
