Job summary

Our client, a leading technology organization in Austin, TX, seeks a Validation Engineer 1 to join the team. The role focuses on developing test plans, executing electrical and functional validation, and debugging issues for new processor silicon interface features with emphasis on power management.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Electrical or Computer Engineering with 0-2 years of related experience or a Master’s with relevant experience, plus hands-on verification tools experience and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering or Computer Engineering with 0-2 years of related experience; or Master's plus at least 1 year directly related experience (an advanced degree considered a plus).
• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in the development & execution of platform-level electrical & functional test plans.
• Platform-level electrical characterization experience with processor I/O interfaces is considered preferred.
• Experience and demonstrated technical expertise in debugging processor & PC platform I/O interfaces.
• Knowledge using oscilloscopes, reading schematics and layout documentation; strong written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Write comprehensive electrical & functional test plans for processor interface validation of processors.
• Execute electrical & functional test plans for client processors using hardware & software validation tools, oscilloscopes, and logic analyzers.
• Debug electrical & functional issues for new processors, driving issues to clear root cause and resolution.
• Provide detailed input into platform definition and review of platform designs used in silicon validation of new processors.
• Deliver technical guidance and training to less experienced engineers and technicians in planning, test, and debug processor validation.
