Job summary

HNTB Corporation in Chicago is seeking an Urban Mobility Project Engineer/Planner to join our team of planners and engineers on multimodal transportation projects from feasibility through Phase II design.

You will contribute to roadway, bikeway, transit and intersection design, produce plans, studies and environmental documents, and engage with public clients, with a focus on safety improvements and urban design.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated understanding of urban roadway design, traffic engineering, transportation planning, and roadway safety improvements.
• Experience developing bikeway, transit, or intersection design projects including plan and profile, alternative concepts, and complex geometric design.
• Familiarity with agency standards and reporting procedures.

Responsibilities

• Completes assigned work within the schedule and hours provided.
• Supports preparation and modification of project reports, plans, designs, and calculations.
• Assists in preparation of project quantity and cost estimates.
• Assists engineering teams with organization and administrative support of design files.
• Supports engineering teams with research, data collection, field investigations, and design of projects.
