Job summary

Pinnacle Solutions, an Akima company, is seeking a passionate Game Designer to join our hybrid development team. The role emphasizes Unreal Engine proficiency, AR/VR experience, and collaboration within a fast-paced, standards-driven environment on government contracts.

You will contribute to serious game development, learn custom frameworks, and own features from design to integration with artists and engineers. Prior government contract experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Game Design/Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
• Knowledge of 3D game mechanics.
• Proficiency with the Unreal Game Engine.
• Proficiency in Unreal Blueprints.
• Experience in AR/VR development.
• Strong problem-solving, analytical skills, and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with artists, software engineers, and other game designers to implement gameplay features.
• Work in a fast-paced environment with quick turnaround times.
• Follow development standards using proprietary development tools.
• Debug and resolve bugs, performance issues, and gameplay inconsistencies.
• Review other game designers’ work & provide constructive feedback in accordance with our development standards.
• Participate in regular development reviews and team meetings. Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies.
