Job summary

Lumber Specialties, a division of US LBM Holdings, LLC, is hiring a Truss Assembler to lay out, assemble, and stock truss components across our Osceola, IA facility. You will read shop drawings, operate cutting and assembly equipment, and ensure quality and safety standards are met.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and carpentry experience; training provided. The role offers full-time hours, competitive wages, and opportunities for advancement within the truss assembly family.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
  • Prior carpentry experience preferred.
  • Must be able to read a tape measure and use a hammer.
  • Ability to learn to operate equipment such as routers, saws, presses, and staple guns.

Responsibilities

  • Lay out truss supplies and materials on carts or floor and stock plates for component set-up.
  • Load and band finished materials on carts/pallets inside and/or outside.
  • Receive incoming products, commodities, and materials.
  • Read shop drawings to identify plate sizes, plate gauges, girder truss nailing and bolt patterns.
  • Monitor production workflow process assisting other areas as needed.
  • Operate all equipment necessary to the assembly process.
  • Adhere to established safety rules and regulations; maintain a safe environment.
  • Comply with attendance policy and keep bays/staging areas clean and organized.
  • Provide excellent customer service and monitor inventory as required by location management.
  • Retain situational awareness to produce error-free results.
  • Participate in and complete assigned trainings.
