Job summary

VHB's South Portland, Maine office is seeking an entry level Transportation Planner to contribute to a variety of planning studies and work across disciplines in a dynamic team. You will gain exposure to diverse projects and clients while developing core transportation planning skills.

The role emphasizes GIS-based analyses, public involvement support, and written documentation, with growth opportunities in a collaborative, technology-enabled environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, civil engineering, or related field.
• 0-1 years of related professional experience.
• Experience with Esri ArcGIS Desktop/Pro/Online is a plus.
• Experience in SHP and File Geodatabase formats is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Assist in development of transportation planning studies.
• Assist with development of public involvement materials.
• Support authorship of project-related documentation.
• Prepare written documents and assemble reports.
• Conduct GIS-based planning analyses and summarize results.
• Perform field data collection and on-site project support.
• Assist in safety studies.
