Job summary

DOWL is seeking a Transportation Designer 1 in Anchorage, AK to perform entry-level engineering calculations, design and drafting for sidewalks, bike paths, local roadways, highways, and other transportation facilities under supervision.

You will assist with site visits, CAD drafting, 3D modeling, and writing project specifications and reports, estimating quantities and costs, and collaborating with a team to deliver safe, efficient transportation solutions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required.
• EIT/EI within 6 months of hire.
• Must be able to work under supervision and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform entry-level engineering calculations and drafting for transportation projects.
• Assist with site visits, CAD drafting, geometric roadway layout, and 3D modeling.
• Prepare technical reports, project specifications, construction cost estimates, and correspondence.
• Collaborate with team under the guidance of a licensed professional engineer.
• Contribute to design documents and construction plans and related exhibits.
