Job summary

Jacobs is seeking an Electric Transmission Entry Level Siting Analyst to support utility clients on transmission projects through planning, routing, siting, permitting and stakeholder engagement.

You will contribute to developing transmission facilities, including overhead and underground lines and substations, by performing research, GIS analyses, coordinating with engineers and regulators, drafting reports and exhibits, and guiding project trackers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in planning, geography, environmental science, engineering, natural resources, real estate, public policy, or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of experience in environmental planning, permitting, infrastructure, utilities, GIS, or land use.
• Ability to interpret maps and technical documents with strong research, writing, and communication skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and exposure to ArcGIS or mapping platforms.
• Willingness to travel periodically for site visits and project meetings.

Responsibilities

• Perform research and compile environmental, land-use, regulatory, and infrastructure data.
• Support GIS mapping, constraint screening, route comparisons, and data-quality checks.
• Assist with field reconnaissance, meeting preparation, site documentation, and stakeholder tracking.
• Draft sections of technical reports, exhibits, presentations, and project trackers.
• Coordinate tasks with internal teams and communicate schedule concerns or data gaps.
