Job summary

Langan seeks an Entry-Level Traffic Engineer in New York, NY to join a collaborative team. You will participate in transportation planning studies, traffic engineering analyses, and roadway/traffic signal design.

This role offers exposure to planning, design, and permitting across cross-disciplinary projects. You will gain hands-on experience with traffic/transportation engineering, land development, and infrastructure projects while developing technical and analytical skills in a learning

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is required.
• 0-2 years of related experience is preferred.
• EIT certification or FE exam registration is preferred.
• Prior internship or professional experience is desirable.
• Proficiency in HCS, SYNCHRO and MUTCD is expected.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD, MicroStation or SoftDesk is beneficial.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical abilities are valued.
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
• Reliable transportation for job site visits.

Responsibilities

• Assist with planning, design, and permitting of traffic/transportation projects.
• Complete traffic analysis for traffic impact studies.
• Use engineering software to prepare documents (SYNCHRO, HCS, etc.).
• Apply engineering principles and advanced mathematics.
• Draft or review reports including traffic impact and parking studies.
• Perform other duties as requested.
