Job summary

Walleye Capital in Minnesota seeks a Junior Trader to join a team of experienced traders, developers, and researchers. You will learn and operate our proprietary market making software, monitor equities and options, and identify trading opportunities while growing to manage a book of names.

The role emphasizes analytical skills, quantitative thinking, and disciplined risk management as you progressively take ownership and work with senior colleagues to expand trading activities.

Qualifications

• 3-7 years of trading experience in options market making or related role.
• Strong understanding of equity options, volatility, pricing, and market making.
• Experience using market making software, trading platforms, and risk systems.
• Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple positions.

Responsibilities

• Learn and operate the team's proprietary market making software, trading tools, and risk management systems.
• Monitor equities and equity options throughout the trading day and identify potential trading opportunities.
• Research individual equities, options, volatility, and market developments.
• Maintain accurate theoretical values, pricing assumptions, and risk parameters across assigned symbols.
• Monitor positions and exposures and adjust per risk framework.
• Analyze market trends, volatility, liquidity, and other factors affecting strategies.
• Manage a book of equities and options under guidance of senior traders.
• Collaborate with senior traders, developers, researchers to improve strategies and tools.
• Identify opportunities to improve pricing, execution, risk management, and processes.
• Maintain accurate trading records and contribute to reporting.
• Operate effectively in fast-paced environment requiring accuracy and responsiveness.
