ofi North America (Olam Food Ingredients) is seeking a Junior Trader in Stamford, CT to develop green coffee sales and conduct market research for North America. You will build relationships with small and mid-size customers, manage contract execution, price fixation, quality control, and delivery coordination.
This role blends analytical work with teamwork, and requires excellent communication skills. Onsite five days a week; occasional travel up to 10%.
We are a global leader in food & beverage ingredients. Pioneers at heart, we operate at the forefront of consumer trends to provide food & beverage manufacturers with products and ingredients that will delight their consumers. Making a positive impact on people and planet is all part of the delight. With a deep-rooted presence in the countries where our ingredients are grown, we are closer to farmers, enabling better quality, and more reliable, traceable and transparent supply. Supplying products and ingredients at scale is just the start. We add value through our unique, complementary portfolio of natural, delicious and nutritious products. The Junior Trader is a dynamic, dual-focused role that combines green coffee sales development with strategic market research across North America. A successful candidate will be responsible for building and managing relationships with small and medium-sized customers, driving green coffee sales, and overseeing contract execution—including price fixation, quality control, and delivery coordination. This aspect of the role demands a high level of teamwork, customer focus, and operational follow-through.
In parallel, the role will also lead research initiatives on coffee imports, market trends, and consumer insights, requiring strong analytical skills and the ability to translate findings into actionable strategies that inform the team’s trading decisions.
The ideal candidate will possess a blend of interpersonal and analytical strengths, communicate effectively, think strategically, and thrive both independently and within a collaborative team environment. A strong interest in the green coffee industry is essential, and while prior experience in account management, particularly within coffee or related food sectors—is preferred, it is not mandatory.
The position involves ongoing collaboration with ofi’s coffee-origin teams, as well as logistics and Accounts Payable (AP) departments, making cross-functional engagement a key component of success.
