Job summary

Mercer County Schools King Middle School in Harrodsburg, Kentucky seeks an Assistant Track Coach I to support coaches in daily and long-range athletic programs. This part-time position requires ability to lift up to 50 pounds and to follow safety rules.

Responsibilities include assisting in program planning, guiding student athletes, supervising travel, and helping with equipment purchases. Candidates must meet Kentucky ABLE, background check, AIDS awareness, and CPR/First Aid certifications.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED as required by Kentucky law.
• Able to pass ABLE test, criminal record check, AIDS awareness training, and current certification in first aid and CPR.

Responsibilities

• Assist coaches in daily and long-range athletic activities.
• Assist coaches in planning the athletic program.
• Conduct learning experiences with small groups of student athletes under the direction of the head coaches.
• Assist in guiding participants toward a harmonious team spirit.
• Assist in providing escort assistance and supervision to athletes during periods of team travel.
• Recommend to the head coach the purchase of equipment, supplies, and uniforms for safety and welfare of student athletes.
• Perform other non-coaching duties assigned by the principal, athletic director, or head coach.
