Overview

• The practice advises leading technology, media, and consumer brand companies on protecting and enforcing their intellectual property.
• The DWT trademark team represents global brands across technology, media, entertainment, retail, food and beverage, and consumer goods sectors, offering strategic counseling on brand development and protection, global portfolio management, and handling complex enforcement and TTAB matters.
• The role involves conducting U.S. trademark clearance (including with SAEGIS/Corsearch) and preliminary multinational searches, analyzing results, and preparing opinions.
• Key responsibilities include managing domestic and international trademark prosecution, including Office Actions, and coordinating with foreign counsel on international filings and portfolio management.
• The position supports trademark enforcement matters (cease-and-desist letters, investigations, strategy) and assists with Trademark Trial and Appeal Board (TTAB) proceedings (discovery, motions, investigations, evidence).
• The associate will advise clients on trademark portfolio strategy, brand protection, and related IP issues, and assist with UDRP proceedings.
• The role also includes assisting with copyright registration, related issues, preparing trademark and copyright licenses and assignments, and supporting corporate transactions with IP due diligence.
• Associates in the group work directly with clients and gain meaningful responsibility early in their careers.
