Overview

• The Real Estate team, part of BakerHostetler’s Business Practice Group, works on sophisticated real estate transactions for diverse regional, national, and multinational companies.
• The role involves handling complex commercial real estate transactions from start to finish, including purchases and sales, development, leasing, and financing.
• Core responsibilities include drafting and negotiating sophisticated purchase and sale agreements, commercial leases, development agreements, easements, declarations, legal opinions, and closing documents.
• Experience is required in all aspects of real estate diligence review and analysis, covering title, survey, zoning, existing leases, environmental matters, transaction authorization, and real estate diligence and drafting in connection with mergers and acquisitions.
• Effective and persuasive written and oral communication skills are essential, with demonstrated experience speaking directly with clients, title companies, surveyors, and opposing counsel.
• Experience in real estate finance, franchise real estate acquisition and leasing, joint ventures, hospitality, home builder, community development, zoning, and land use are considered advantageous.
