Job summary

ENSCO, Inc. seeks a Junior Technician to support railroad track inspection operations at customer sites with a 3 weeks on / 1 week off travel cycle across the United States.

You will use measurement tools, perform electronics troubleshooting, interpret railroad documents for train speed data, and review track measurement data for reporting. Travel is required; flights, hotels, and per diem are provided.

Qualifications

  • Requires Public Trust background; US resident for 3 of last 5 years.
  • 3–5 years in electrical/electromechanical/mechanical fields or a Bachelor's with 1 year experience.
  • Experience with workplace safety programs.
  • Proficient with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook.
  • Able to read electrical schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience inspecting equipment and performing upkeep.
  • Familiarity with Windows OS and basic file transfers.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid Driver's License and ability to obtain medical certification.
  • Willingness to travel independently for business and arrange lodging.

ENSCO Rail, Inc. is seeking a Junior Technician to join our team for railroad track inspection operations.

This role involves the use of measurement tools, electronics troubleshooting, and computer operation. It requires interpreting railroad documents to derive train speed information, reviewing and analyzing track measurement data for reporting, and operating hi-rail commercial motor vehicles. The position also includes vehicle maintenance for rail survey cars and hi-rail vehicles, along with regular housekeeping duties for safety and sanitation aboard survey vehicles. The role is based at ENSCO\'s customer sites and requires routine travel to and work on-board railroad track inspection vehicles while maintaining a professional demeanor as a representative of ENSCO.

Work schedule: 3 weeks of continuous travel, followed by 1 week off. Location is flexible within the U.S. Travel to work sites is provided; flights, hotels, and per diem are provided.

Qualifications Required
  • Successful completion of a Public Trust background investigation. Must have resided in the United States for at least three of the past five years.
  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in electrical, electromechanical, or mechanical fields involving troubleshooting and problem resolution, or a Bachelor\'s Degree or equivalent with 1 year of experience.
  • Experience with workplace safety programs.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams.
  • Experience conducting equipment/machinery inspections and equipment upkeep.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Windows OS and basic file transfer tasks.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with measuring tools such as tape measures.
  • Functional knowledge of mathematics and fraction measurements.
  • Valid Driver\'s License and ability to complete a Department of Transportation medical examination to obtain a Commercial Driver Medical Certification.
  • Ability to travel independently for business, including booking independent vehicle rental and hotel accommodations.
  • Experience reading electrical or electronic schematics and wiring diagrams (duplicate item removed).
