Job summary

Amentum is seeking a Junior Technician in California to support Space Force Range operations. You will assist with depot and engineering related repairs, inspections, and maintenance on prime mission equipment and related subsystems.

This role requires a high school diploma, up to two years of related experience, and the ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work at heights. Some travel and after-hours work may be required, with compensation per collective bargaining agreement.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0–2 years related experience and/or knowledge of basic electronic principles.
• Experience with Microsoft Office suite.
• Experience with hand/power tools, shop equipment, forklifts.
• Good comprehension of equipment manuals.
• Ability to become knowledgeable with OSHA Standards.
• Good oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to free climb or work from high-reach equipment at heights over 150’.
• Ability to lift, push, pull and carry up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to sustain prolonged standing, kneeling or repeated stooping.
• Travel to off-base locations may be required.
• Flexibility to work non-duty hours or weekends.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship).
• Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Depot and engineering related repairs, refurbishments, and maintenance on PME.
• Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, adjusting, aligning, repair/refurbish/replace, bearing, seals, gears, motors, pumps, dehydrators, heat exchangers, compressors, etc.
• Assist with rigging and crane-lifts support.
• Assist maintenance on Depot Shop equipment, including record-keeping/documentation.
• Provide support to equipment installations/modifications and removals.
• Climb or work from towers, platforms, ladders, scissor lifts, 45’/80’ man-lifts, 170’ Condor man-lift.
• Complete assigned training to establish proficiency and certification for mission support.
• Adhere to policies on safety, security, and timekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

• Assist with inspections, troubleshooting, adjusting, aligning, repair/refurbish/replace, bearing, seals, gears, motors, pumps, dehydrators, heat exchangers, compressors, antenna/pedestals, hydraulic/pneumatics sub-systems, various other electro-mechanical system components, various types of cable assemblies, coax, and waveguide.
• Assist with rigging and crane-lifts support.
• Assist maintenance on Depot Shop equipment, including record-keeping/documentation.
• Provide support to equipment installations/modifications and removals.
• Climb or work from towers, platforms, ladders, scissor lifts, 45’/80’ man-lifts, 170’ Condor man-lift.
• Complete assigned training in a timely manner to establish a level of proficiency and certification essential for mission support.
• Adhere to established policies and procedures pertaining to job site safety, security, and timekeeping.

• May be required to travel in support of work at off base locations.
• The flexibility to work non-duty hours or on weekends to support specific project, Depot Unscheduled Depot Level Maintenance (UDLM) or Emergency Depot Level Maintenance (EDLM) requirements.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret Security Clearance, which includes U.S. citizenship.
• Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
• Valid U.S. Driver’s License.

Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret U.S. Government Clearance. Note: U.S. Citizenship is required to obtain a Secret Clearance.

Salary and Other Compensation

The annual starting salary for this position is between $28.62–$35.73 hourly. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate. Salary determined by Collective Bargaining Agreement.
