Job summary

Microspec Corporation is seeking a Junior Technical Sales Representative to support RFQ intake, quotations, and order coordination. You will translate customer design parameters into clear internal requirements and work with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams under guidance.

This entry-level role provides technical and commercial training in medical extrusion products, ISO guidelines, and costumer service.

Qualifications

• 0-1 year of relevant experience, including internships, co-ops, or early career roles.
• Exposure to regulated manufacturing environments and ISO 13485 guidelines preferred.
• Basic ability to read 2D technical drawings, blueprints, dimensions and tolerances.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; CRM/ERP experience a plus.
• Strong math, technical writing, verbal communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Primary job responsibility: The Junior Technical Sales Representative supports the growth of custom medical extrusion accounts by assisting with the initial stages of the Request for Quote (RFQ) lifecycle, quotations, order coordination, customer communication, project follow-up, and general organization efforts. The role helps translate customer design parameters—such as multi-lumen geometry, wall thicknesses, dimensions, tolerances, and polymer specifications—into clear internal project requirements. This entry-level position follows a structured technical and commercial training path while building knowledge of medical plastic extrusion products, processes, materials, costing, and customer service. The Junior Technical Sales Representative works interdepartmentally with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Customer Service, R&D, and senior Sales team members under guidance.
• Essential functions of position:
• Identify, evaluate, document, and respond to incoming requests for information, samples, and quotations; review inbound engineering inquiries and coordinate initial RFQ intake.
• Identify and clarify missing or unclear customer information; compile technical specifications and confirm that drawings or blueprints include the dimensions, tolerances, material requirements, and other information needed for manufacturing review and draft quotation.
• Assist in researching current, past, and similar project pricing; collect pertinent information from customer files for the draft quote packet; work with senior Sales, Engineering, and ERP resources to support initial analysis of raw material volumes, tooling requirements, costs, and lead times.
• Assist in drafting sales quote requests and translating customer design parameters, including lumen geometry, wall thicknesses, dimensions, tolerances, and polymer specifications, into clear internal project requirements.
• Maintain the Sales Quote log and accurate CRM or ERP records for active development projects, design revisions, customer communications, milestones, and next-step actions.
• Screen, qualify, triage, and document all incoming Sales-related phone calls.
• Assist in proactive and strategic project outreach, including sales quote follow-up and communication with customer purchasing contacts regarding open quotes, sample requests, prototype delivery schedules, and next steps.
• Maintain Sales Quote and Prototype Purchase Order files.
• Assist as back-up in PO Queue Tracking.
• Coordinate with Quality, R&D, Engineering, and Production to track feasibility reviews and prototype runs in accordance with internal procedures and applicable ISO 13485 guidelines; prepare Feasibility & Development Close Out Forms.
• Maintain and regularly update the Sample Tube Log spreadsheet as needed.
• Enter sample shipments in the Request Log Excel spreadsheet.
• Assist with the research and collection of samples per customer and/or internal requests.
• Maintain the NDA Excel spreadsheet and file paper copies in the Sales binder.
• Assist with creating and monitoring the company’s social media presence.
• Assist with content creation such as blog posts, etc. for social media.
• Assist in tracking and trending Sales department KPIs, creating graphs, tables, and reports for projects.
• Assist in data collection, entry, research, and management for Sales and Customer Service as needed.
• Perform related responsibilities as required for Sales, Customer Service, and Other tasks as assigned by management.
• Sort and file digital and hard copy paperwork.
• Cr oss-Train in Customer Service for redundancy.
