Job summary

Socket.dev is seeking an entry‑level structural/civil engineer to support design, development, and construction projects across public and private sectors. You will collect data from site sources, assist with research, design, and documentation to ensure safety and functionality.

Under supervision, you will perform basic engineering tasks, analyze site conditions, prepare drawings using MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and generate clear records.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Structural or Civil Engineering, or closely related discipline.
• 0 to 1 years of relevant post education experience.
• Excellent research skills with analytical mindset.
• Familiarity with design/build concepts and relevant codes.
• Strong communication for engineering and non‑engineering audiences.
• Proficiency with technical writing, office software and tools.
• Experience with design software such as MicroStation, AutoCAD, Civil 3D.
• Familiarity with software like ArcGIS, InRoads, Geopak, ANSYS, STADD, HEC-RAS, HEC-HMS.

Responsibilities

• Assist with collecting, compiling, and analyzing data from sites, surveys, blueprints, GIS data, and maps.
• Support basic professional structural engineering work for site conditions and conformance with rules and permits.
• Perform routine engineering functions and provide entry‑level technical assistance on design requirements.
• Assist with verifying site characteristics and structural soundness under loads and environmental effects.
• Generate documentation using electronic systems, drawings, and logs.
• Comply with safety guidelines and site procedures and participate in training.
• Perform additional responsibilities as required by project needs.
