Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Chamblee, GA office is seeking engineering graduates to join its Structural team in 2027. This on-site role will contribute to design and analysis of vertical structures like high rises, apartments, hotels, and bridges, with mentorship and training provided.

You will work with senior engineers, develop drawings and specifications, and gain exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions while growing your skills in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

  • ABET accredited engineering degree expected by Summer 2027 in Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or Structural Engineering.
  • Working knowledge of Revit and Civil 3D.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

  • Work on diverse structures: high rises, apartment buildings, hotels, commercial buildings, bridges, retaining walls, and other structural design efforts.
  • Perform engineering tasks with on-the-job training, mentorship, and exposure to plan production, project financials, and client interactions.
  • Assist in design and analysis of vertical structures, ensuring compliance with codes and standards.
  • Perform structural calculations and prepare detailed design documents, drawings, and specifications.
  • Collaborate with senior engineers and project managers to address technical challenges and deliver innovative solutions.
  • Utilize structural design software to produce accurate models and drawings.
  • Participate in field inspections and site visits to gather data and verify structural integrity.
