Job summary

Hatch Ltd. in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a Junior Structural Engineer to support the Project Delivery Group from our Pittsburgh office.

You will assist with project scopes, estimates, and developing repair methodologies while applying structural design principles in a multi-discipline setting. Ideal candidates are recent graduates with an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering degree, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and knowledge of structural steel and concrete design.

Hatch is seeking a dynamic Junior Structural Engineer. Reporting to the Project Delivery Group, you will support offices globally working from our Pittsburgh, PA office location.

Qualifications:

• Roles at this level are filled by recent or soon to be university/college graduates with little or no professional experience but possessing relevant skills
• Preferred bachelor’s or master’s degree in civil engineering from an ABET accredited university
• Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale

As the successful candidate, you will:

• Assist the Lead Structural Engineer in developing project scopes, engineering estimates, capital cost estimates and developing repair methodologies
• Apply Civil / Structural engineering principles to provide efficient, effective, economical and timely solutions to design problems in a multidiscipline project environment
• Directly apply and develop knowledge in structural steel,concreteand foundationdesign forbuilding and equipment supportstructures
• Design structures and components
• Gain valuable on-site practical experience

You bring to the role:

• Knowledge of structural steel and concrete design
• Knowledge of using IBC, ACI and AISC code
• FE / E.I.T certification in hand and asset
• 3D analytical softwareexperiencesan asset
• Previous co-op or internship experience is an asset
