Job summary

Kimley-Horn's Long Beach, CA office is seeking engineering graduates to join the Structural team for 2027. This on-site role offers mentorship, exposure to plan production and client interactions, and hands-on experience on diverse structures such as high rises, hotels and bridges.

You will learn under senior engineers, perform design and analysis, and gain skills in field inspections and reporting. ABET-degree candidates will fit well, with strong Revit/Civil 3D knowledge and communication

Qualifications

• ABET accredited engineering degree by Summer 2027 in Civil and/or Environmental Engineering or Structural Engineering.
• Proficiency in Revit and Civil 3D.
• Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal skills.
• Strong sense of urgency and self-initiative to meet client deadlines.
• Detail-oriented with ability to contribute to a positive work environment.
• Ability to work independently and as a team.

Responsibilities

• Work on a variety of structures including high rises, apartments, hotels, commercial buildings, bridges and walls.
• Perform engineering tasks with mentorship and exposure to plan production, project financials and client interactions.
• Assist in design and analysis of vertical structures and ensure compliance with codes.
• Perform structural calculations and prepare drawings and specifications.
• Collaborate with senior engineers and managers to develop innovative solutions.
• Utilize structural design software and tools to create accurate models.
• Participate in field inspections and site visits to gather data.
• Contribute to project coordination meetings and design-related input.
• Support preparation of reports, presentations and technical documentation for client review.
