Job Opportunity: Junior Stress Analyst at NASA Johnson Space Center

Are you passionate about human space exploration, understanding the origins of the universe, and working with a diverse team? Join us to help achieve inspiring goals for NASA's deep space exploration.

We are seeking a Junior Stress Analyst to support structural analysis tasks at NASA Johnson Space Center, Houston, TX. Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Supporting structural analysis across multiple NASA divisions.
  2. Performing classical hand stress analysis, finite element stress analysis, and fracture analysis.
  3. Adhering to NASA standards for analysis, including Fracture Control.
  4. Using NASGRO for fracture mechanics analysis.
  5. Developing finite element models using FEMAP or PATRAN, and solving with NASTRAN.
  6. Preparing structural analysis reports and collaborating with engineers to resolve issues.
  7. Performing additional duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering.
  • Typically 1+ years of experience in a related field.
  • Proficiency with MS Office and desktop software applications.
  • Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with NASA spaceflight hardware analysis.
  • Familiarity with FEMAP, PATRAN, MSC/NASTRAN.
