State of Connecticut, Office of Policy and Management (OPM) is recruiting for a Staff Attorney 1 (confidential) to support the General Counsel and handle a broad range of legal matters across budget, policy, legislation, labor, employment, and human resources. Qualifications

  • Must have a degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong legal research and writing skills.
  • Experience with FOIA, litigation discovery, and administrative proceedings helpful.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in FOIA and litigation discovery responses and document production.
  • Act as hearing officer or represent agency in formal proceedings.
  • Analyze complex and technical evidence; conduct legal research and provide guidance on labor relations matters.
  • Draft advisory opinions, rulings, and legal documents; assist in trials and appeals.
  • Consult with the Office of the Attorney General on legal issues; review legal documents for sufficiency.
