General Dynamics – Bath Iron Works is seeking a motivated Junior Database Administrator (SQL Server) to join the Data Services team in Bath, ME. The role focuses on building foundational SQL Server expertise, supporting performance management, and providing operational support in a safety-conscious environment.

Under BIW's BOS framework, you will ensure compliance with safety and quality standards while collaborating with developers, data engineers, and system admins to meet milestones and drive

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience with Microsoft SQL Server.
• Basic understanding of T-SQL, querying, and relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with Windows Server environments.
• Ability to diagnose common database issues and willingness to learn more advanced troubleshooting.
• Strong attention to detail and desire to follow established procedures.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances.
• Monitor database performance and optimize/tune processes.
• Perform regular backup and restore operations for data reliability.
• Manage user accounts, permissions, and auditing for security.
• Maintain and update database schemas, processes, and procedures.
