Job summary

astound is seeking an entry-level database administrator to support the IT Infrastructure team, maintaining Microsoft SQL Server environments across development, test, and production, with exposure to Oracle.

The role emphasizes performance, availability, and security, collaborating with IT leadership and engineers to safeguard database operations while building enterprise data management skills and cross-platform DBA expertise.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience working with SQL Server databases.
• Foundational understanding of relational database concepts and architecture.
• Familiarity with Oracle database environments.
• Basic knowledge of Windows Server and Linux.

• Monitor and maintain SQL Server databases, performing backups, restores, integrity checks, and index maintenance
• Assist with database provisioning, configuration, and patch management across multiple environments

• Support SQL Server upgrades, migrations, and deployments
• Help administer Oracle environments, including RMAN backup and recovery operations

The posted base compensation range is $70,000–$90,000, with actual pay dependent on location, skills, and experience.
