Kratos Defense & Security Solutions, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Software Engineer I to develop software for KUAS under close supervision. You will work with senior engineers, contribute to requirements, design, and testing, and support flight testing activities within a defense-focused team.

The role emphasizes adherence to KUAS processes, professional communication, and the potential for security clearance. A BS in a relevant field and programming coursework in C/C++ are expected.

• Understanding of object oriented programming principles.
• Understanding of real-time software and systems.
• Familiarity with the software development lifecycle (SDLC).
• Ability to analyze and clearly document software requirements.
• Willingness to travel for job duties.
• Ability to work cross-functionally to meet program requirements.
• Ability to maintain sensitive information per government standards.
• Effective written and verbal communication with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and decompose system requirements with other engineering disciplines.
• Write software requirements specifications, test descriptions, and progress reports.
• Design, implement, test, and document software per KUAS processes.
• Prepare design reviews for technical interchange meetings.
• Participate in code reviews and verify change specifications.
• Support flight testing, data reduction, analysis, and reporting.
• Engage in software effort planning and progress tracking.
• Contribute to software development metrics and process improvement.
