Job summary

VT Group (VTG) in Hanover, MD is seeking a Junior Software Engineer to support mission-critical national security initiatives. You will design, develop, integrate, and maintain secure, high-performance software for critical intelligence, defense, and operational missions.

The role requires collaboration in Agile environments and a focus on resilient, secure solutions. Hybrid work option up to two days remote per week; sign-on bonus up to $10,000 available.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Computer Science or related discipline.
• Four (4) years of RF Software or equivalent experience may substitute for a degree.
• Four years of experience with C++, Linux, Python, or similar development language.

Responsibilities

• Analyze user requirements to derive software design and performance requirements.
• Debug existing software and correct defects using Python and C++.
• Create and maintain a scalable, high-availability mission system using modern design principles.
• Provide recommendations for improving documentation and software development process standards.
• Assist with developing and executing test procedures for software components.
• Design, develop and modify software using mathematical models to predict outcomes.
• Collaborate with system and hardware engineers to derive software requirements and interfaces.
• Generate automation scripts to improve workflow and efficiency.
