Job summary

VTG is seeking a Jr. DevOps Engineer to support software and system deployments across Linux, containerized, cloud, and virtualized environments. You will administer Linux systems (RHEL/CentOS), maintain CI/CD pipelines with Jenkins/GitLab, and implement automation with Python/Bash, Ansible, and Terraform.

The role requires experience with Docker/Kubernetes, network design for LAN/CAN/WAN, and travel eligibility. Eligible candidates may receive a sign-on bonus up to $10,000.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of hands-on experience in software and system deployments
• Experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL/CentOS Linux environments
• Experience with containerization, Docker, and Kubernetes
• Experience deploying in cloud environments and DevSecOps practices
• Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitLab)
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code/configuration-management tools (Ansible, Terraform)
• Familiarity with network design and administration across LAN/CAN/WAN
• Experience with Arista and Cisco networking devices
• Ability to travel and work on mission-critical national security initiatives
• Active IAT II CWIP/DoD 8570-compliant certification such as Security+

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain LAN/CAN/WAN networks and network devices
• Configure and optimize networks for front-end/back-end components

• Implement and manage infrastructure-as-code with Ansible/Terraform
• Deploy and troubleshoot containerized apps with Docker and Kubernetes
• Manage Kubernetes clusters for HA, scalability, and security
• Support hybrid cloud and virtualized environments
• Troubleshoot infra, deployment, networking, and application integration issues
• Collaborate across infra, dev, security, and ops teams to ensure reliable deployments

What will you do?

• Support software and system deployments across Linux, containerized, cloud, and virtualized environments.
• Administer, configure, maintain, and troubleshoot Linux systems, particularly RHEL and CentOS.
• Support DevSecOps processes and automation across development, testing, deployment, and operational environments.
• Design, implement, maintain, troubleshoot, and upgrade LAN, CAN, and WAN networks.
• Administer and configure Arista and Cisco network devices.
• Configure and optimize network infrastructure connecting front-end and back-end system components.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using Python and Bash.
• Build, maintain, and troubleshoot CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab.
• Implement and maintain infrastructure-as-code and configuration-management solutions using Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Deploy, administer, and troubleshoot containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes.
• Manage and configure Kubernetes clusters to support high availability, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Support the management and monitoring of hybrid cloud and virtualized environments.
• Troubleshoot infrastructure, deployment, networking, Linux, containerization, and application integration issues.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience with:
• Software and system deployments
• Linux system administration
• Containerization
• Cloud deployments

• Strong hands-on experience administering and troubleshooting RHEL/CentOS Linux environments.
• Experience designing, implementing, maintaining, and upgrading LAN/CAN/WAN networks.
• Experience administering Arista and Cisco networking equipment.
• Experience configuring and optimizing networks supporting front-end and back-end components.
• Proficiency with Python and Bash scripting.
• Experience developing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins and/or GitLab.
• Experience with infrastructure-as-code/configuration-management tools such as Ansible and/or Terraform.
• Hands-on experience with Docker and Kubernetes.
• Experience managing and configuring Kubernetes clusters for high availability, scalability, and security.
• Experience managing and monitoring hybrid cloud and virtualized environments.
• Active IAT II CWIP / DoD 8570-compliant certification, such as CompTIA Security+.
• Must be willing to travel. VTG's estimated starting pay range is $100K - $150K annually, which is a general guideline for the geographic location. When extending an offer, VTG also considers work experience, education, skill level, market considerations and may possibly include contractual requirements which may cause an offer to fall outside of this range.
