Job summary

BlueCargo is seeking a Junior Engineer to help build the platform technology and infrastructure that powers our freight audit and logistics product. You will design, implement, and improve functions and algorithms for our core audit product while evolving our Django app into a scalable data platform.

You will work in a hybrid setup from our HQ in Culver City, Los Angeles, and grow into a near-expert in the freight industry as you collaborate with an entrepreneurial team backed by Y Combinator.

Qualifications

• 1+ year of Python development experience, ideally with Django.
• 1+ years of database modeling experience for production use cases.
• Experience with a popular cloud provider (AWS preferred).
• High attention to detail, ability to execute with minimal supervision.
• Desire to grow technically and learn about the industry.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and improve functions and algorithms that drive our core audit product, even in the face of conflicting information.
• Translate product requirements and technical designs into well-engineered, low-defect code.
• Scale/break down our Django application into its next evolution as a data platform.
• Become a near-expert in the freight industry over time.
