Job summary

Energy Solutions seeks a Software Engineer I to join the Information Systems team. You will design, develop, test, and enhance software solutions in an Agile environment, collaborating with engineers and cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality applications and features.

The position offers a hybrid work model with offices in Oakland, Orange, New York, Portland, Chicago, and Boston, along with a strong benefits package including ESOP and retirement plans.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in software engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field; equivalent combination may be considered.
• 1 year of relevant software development experience or internships.
• Experience with established development processes and tools.
• Foundational understanding of software engineering principles and programming concepts.
• Exposure to lifecycle activities: development, testing, deployment, maintenance, or support.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, JavaScript, C#, Mendix, or similar technologies.
• Basic SQL and relational database concepts.
• Familiarity with Git version control.

Responsibilities

• Support development, testing, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications under guidance of senior engineers.
• Create and execute unit tests to verify functionality.
• Troubleshoot routine defects and escalate complex issues.
• Document code changes and testing activities for maintainability.
• Participate in sprint reviews, planning, and team discussions.
• Assist with deployment and release validation across environments.
• Monitor applications and communicate issues requiring investigation.
