Leidos Defense Systems is seeking a Software Engineer to develop high‑performance training software and backend systems for unmanned aerial systems. You will design features, fix bugs, write tests, perform peer reviews, and explore new technologies with a team of engineers.

The role involves C++, C#, and .NET development in an Agile environment. The position supports solutions across defense, space, cyber and commercial fields with opportunities to grow into broader system‑level and real-time

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics or equivalent
• Ability to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance
• Experience with Linux, C#, SCM, Databases, Networking, Scripting, DevOps/CI/CD
• Preferred: Git, Podman/Docker in air-gapped environments, Protobuf, Postgres/SQL, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift
• Preferred: Containerization, Asynchronous Development, Distributed Systems, API Design, VM Management

Primary Responsibilities

In this mission we develop training software solutions for our customers in the area of Unmanned Aerial Systems simulation. We use our skills to design and implement new features, fix bugs, perform peer reviews, write tests, analyze new technologies and best practices, and collaborate with other teammates. We develop solutions in C++, .NET, and C#. The team follows Agile software practices, shares a passion for solving complex problems, delivering exceptional software, improving software development processes, and exceeding customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications

• Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.

Pay Range

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
