Job summary

Leidos Defense Systems in Huntsville, AL is seeking a software engineer to develop high-performance training software for unmanned aerial systems simulations. You will design and implement new features, fix bugs, write tests, and participate in peer reviews within an Agile team.

You will work with C++, .NET, and C#, collaborate across disciplines, and grow toward system-level and real-time development. A SECRET clearance is required or ability to obtain one.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Experience with Linux, C#, SCM, Databases.
  • Experience with Unit Tests, Code Reviews, Documentation/Writing Skills, and Communication.
  • Knowledge of Networking, Scripting, and DevOps/CI-CD processes.
  • Preferred: Git, Podman/Docker in air-gapped environments, Protobuf, Postgres/SQL, Kubernetes, Helm, OpenShift.
  • Preferred concepts: Containerization, Asynchronous Development, Distributed Systems, API Design, VM Management, DB clustering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop training software solutions for Unmanned Aerial Systems simulation.
  • Design and implement new features, fix bugs, write tests, and perform peer reviews.
  • Collaborate with teammates and analyze new technologies and best practices.

Primary Responsibilities:

In this mission we develop training software solutions for our customers in the area of Unmanned Aerial Systems simulation. We use our skills to design and implement new features, fix bugs, perform peer reviews, write tests, analyze new technologies and best practices, and collaborate with other teammates. We develop solutions in C++, .NET, and C#. The team follows Agile software practices, shares a passion for solving complex problems, delivering exceptional software, improving software development processes, and exceeding customer expectations.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Candidate must possess at least a bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, or equivalent technical degree
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a SECRET Clearance.
  • Experience in the following technologies:LinuxC#SCMDatabases

Pay Range:

Pay Range $57,850.00 - $104,575.00
