We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Junior Software Developer to support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of software applications used in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and life sciences environments. The ideal candidate will contribute to application development, database management, software testing, and technical documentation while learning how digital solutions support laboratory operations, pharmaceutical manufacturing, clinical research, and quality management. This role is suitable for recent graduates with a background in life sciences or technology who are interested in applying software development skills to scientific and healthcare-related business processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Application Development: Assist in designing, developing, and maintaining software applications that support laboratory workflows, pharmaceutical operations, quality processes, and internal business requirements.
- Database Management: Support database queries, data retrieval, record updates, and basic database maintenance using SQL and relational database concepts.
- Software Testing: Develop and execute basic test cases, document test results, identify software defects, and assist with resolving reported issues.
- Application Troubleshooting: Investigate application errors, review logs, reproduce technical issues, and **escalate** complex problems to senior development or support teams.
- System Integration: Assist with integrating software applications with databases, reporting tools, laboratory information systems, or other approved enterprise platforms.
- Life Sciences Workflow Support: Learn and document business workflows associated with laboratory testing, sample tracking, inventory management, manufacturing records, and quality documentation.
- Technical Documentation: Prepare and maintain code documentation, application specifications, user guides, release notes, and technical support records.
- Version Control: Use version-control tools such as Git to manage code changes, track development progress, and collaborate with other developers.
- Computerized System Compliance: Support software testing and documentation activities for systems used in regulated environments, following applicable procedures and validation requirements.
- Data Security: Follow established access controls, confidentiality requirements, and data protection practices when working with scientific, operational, or business information.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work with business analysts, quality teams, laboratory personnel, validation specialists, and other developers to understand requirements and deliver reliable software solutions.
Required Skills:

- Basic understanding of programming concepts, data structures, debugging, and software development fundamentals.
- Basic knowledge of SQL, relational databases, and data handling.
- Understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) concepts, including requirements, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
- Familiarity with software testing, defect tracking, and technical documentation.
- Awareness of version-control tools such as Git is an advantage.
- Basic understanding of pharmaceutical or life sciences workflows is preferred.
- Awareness of Good Documentation Practices (GDP), data integrity, and computerized system validation (CSV) concepts is beneficial.
- Strong analytical thinking, problem-solving, attention to detail, and willingness to learn.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Preferred: Academic projects, internships, or practical exposure to application development, database projects, bioinformatics tools, laboratory software, or digital solutions for pharmaceutical operations.
